Hey people! How are you all doing? Well, there's no time for you and how you're doing, so unfortunately I don't have time to listen to you. You, on the other hand, should drop everything you're doing and gape at your computer screen/mobile device in awe, because what I'm about to write is extremely, monumentally important...

Reetae.com is now "BrokenLeagues.com."(Cue the band!)

Okay, so here's the thing. If you check the front page of this blog, you'll notice that I haven't made a post in over five months. My excuse is that I actually took some time off to write a book; yes, a book book, with words and everything. With that colossal project under my belt, I'm ready to settle back into my previously sporadic schedule of posting.

However, I did some soul-searching while I was away, and I realized that as "Reetae.com," this site didn't really have much of a direction. It was just me musing and rambling about things like Justin Bieber and YouTubers and NBA 2K13. And hey, those were all good posts. The problem, though, is that there really wasn't a purpose to the exercise other than just to write. I felt like that needed to be fixed.

Soooooo, here's the deal. Now known as Broken Leagues, this blog will primarily focus on fantasy basketball, as it (and the NBA in general) are subjects that I absolutely adore. Plus, I've noticed over the years that fantasy basketball is kind of the red-headed stepchild of the fantasy world. (It seriously gets one-hundredth of the attention fantasy baseball and fantasy football get.) But hey, that opens the door for this site to be relevant in a specific category. If nothing else, Broken Leagues can be the best, darndest, rootinest-tootinest fantasy hoops blog on the planet. But, because I like to go on tangents, the site will still feature my normal slate of meaningless drivel that has nothing to do with sports or basketball. So if you abhor fantasy basketball, have no fear. This site should still be semi-relevant to you.

As for why I chose the name Broken Leagues... well, the honest answer is that all the better ones were taken. I mean, even in the untapped market that is fantasy basketball blogs, squatters have claimed every one-word domain name in existence, so I was forced to use my imagination a little. Still, I think the name works. It's my opinion that most fantasy basketball leagues are absolutely, one hundred percent broken -- either from inaction by the league owners, or the fact that injuries often turn the final two weeks of the fantasy season into a crapshoot.

Anyway, that's it. I'm sorry for being away for so long, and I'm sorry to suddenly morph the site into something different without prior notice. But I'm excited for the future. I genuinely might have deleted this blog had it not managed to pull in as much traffic as it did while I was busy working on my book. On random days in the summer, my one NBA 2K13 article pulled in over a thousand visitors at a time, and has gotten more than 65,000 page views to date -- which is pretty incredible, considering the dearth of effort I'd put into this site. Now, though, I'm going to try to post regularly, and I'm actually trying to get into Twitter and Facebook. Most importantly, if you leave a comment on this site, I swear I'll get around to responding to you (unless something comes up, like I get attacked by wild dogs or something).

Enjoy Broken Leagues!
